Q. Where are we fishing?
A. Lake Buchanan, TX. of the Highland Lakes chain in the Texas hill country.
Q. What kind of boat are we going to be fishing from?
A. Gone Jugging Catfish Guide Service uses a 22 ft. Hurricane deck boat with canopy.
Q. How may people can go on a trip?
A. We can take a maximum of 6 people.
Q. Is there any age limit for clients?
A. Yes. All clients and guests must be at least 8 years of age or older.
Q. What do you provide?
A. We provide the boat, life jackets, jugs and lines, gas, bait, cleaning of fish, good company (Great company is extra!).
Q. What do I need to bring when I come fishing?
A. The trip cost covers everything except food (we can stop at a restaurant on the lake), drinks, sunglasses, sun lotion, fishing license and any personal items. “Bring a large cooler – you’ll need it!”
Q. How long do we fish?
A. We will fish all day (or night) or until we have a limit.
Q. Where would we meet up?
A. You would meet us at Paradise Point on Lake Buchanan. We will give you directions.
Q. Do you fish in all weather?
A. Yes we do, with the exception of severe weather.

Q. How many fish per person can we keep?
A. The current limit is 25 per person.
Q. Do you do any rod & reel fishing?
A. We can make exceptions to fish baited holes if that is your preference.
Q. What type of tackle do you use?
A. We use what are called jug lines.
Q. What exactly is jug fishing?
A. Jug fishing is a floatation device with 2-3 hooks, fished straight down with a weight at the bottom.
Q. What is your success rate?
A. 95% on average.
Q. What is the cost to book a guided catfish trip?
A. A 50% deposit is due to book the trip. Total trip cost is $125 per person. Price includes cleaning of fish.
Q. Do you require a deposit?
A. Yes. We require a 50% deposit which is refundable with 7 days advance notice.
Q. Where can I stay and eat in the Lake Buchanan area?
A. Lodging and food is available from many resorts, motels and hotels in the area. Burnet, Kingsland, Buchanan Dam, Llano all have food and lodging as well as many resorts around the lake. Depending on the time of year, you may want to have reservations in advance of your trip.
Q. What type of catfish will I catch?
A. You will catch a mix of blue catfish, yellow catfish and channel catfish - along with some white bass or even striped bass once in a while.
Q. What time of day do we fish?
A. We offer either day or night trips - it is your call.
